Meditate Retreat

Join us for a seven-day retreat to experience an ancient Chinese meditation practice involving vigorous movement and stillness.

Meditate Retreat

June 20, 2026

We will be holding two more Tathagata True Dharma (Ru Lai Zheng Fa) Seven-Day Silent Meditation Retreats this year at the site of the Holy Vajrasana Temple & Retreat Center, 11507 East Ashlan Avenue, Sanger, CA on June 19-25 and again in October.

Our space is very limited, so this is a first come, first served basis for enrollment and accommodations. Instructions for this ancient form of Zen or Chan meditation, Oryoki meals and the Morning and Evening Service (chanting and introspection) will be provided.

If you have not yet done so, you should read H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III’s The Great Dharma of Zen Practice before attending. There is also a brief summary of that discourse that can help you prepare for this retreat.

We start with chanting and introspection every day at 6:00am, Breakfast at 7:00 and the first round of moving meditation at 8:20, followed by sitting meditation at 8:40. There will be four more sessions of 20 minute moving and 40-60 minute sitting with breaks for snacks and lunch. An open Dharma Reading at 7:20pm and 8:30 Evening Service end the day.
