It has been a few years since we had a peacock report from Sonora. We do sometimes hear one from the Lemonade Sangha broadcasts, but Reba has told me there are not so many anymore. To my surprise I received this photo from Uma this morning with a proud momma peahen and six babies. In case you missed their history, I have reconstructed past reports, but 2020 is the last one I found. COVID changed a lot and my annual pilgrimage to Sonora to see the new chicks (and collect feathers for the altars) was one of those changes.
Previous visits to the PeaPeople Clan can be viewed at 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018-January. 2018-June, 2019, and 2020.

I’m in the Crystal Falls area, and for the past few weeks I have been hearing a peacock calling out at sunset and sunrise. I know this sound well as I used to live in South Shores, San Pedro which is adjacent to Palos Verdes. Palos Verdes, Ca has a huge peacock population and they were a constant in my neiborhood.
