| January 19, 2011, was proclaimed H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Day by Vincent C. Gray, Mayor of Washington D.C., the national capital of the United States. The mayor called on everyone to honor His Holiness Dorje Chang Buddha III. It was the first time that a Buddha Day was proclaimed by a government. Respectfully observing H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Day, the H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Cultural and Art Museum will hold a Life Release Event to Pray for Blessings. All resulting merit will be dedicated to living beings: Wishing them joy and freedom from suffering, and that they have opportunities to listen to true Dharma. May all adversities be eliminated, all living beings attain perfect good fortune and wisdom, everyone live happy lives, all countries flourish, and the world be at peace.
