This course, DCB35, is based on the published preliminary English translation of Learning from Buddha. It is an important teaching from H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III that was given as a discourse in America and released as Chinese CDs in 2016. It has three parts: One on the practice of cultivation, one on the formal practice of tantric dharma, and one on how you implement both of those practices in your daily life. It is a logical continuation and enhancement of DCB26-How to Realize Prajna, where H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III introduced these three types of practices.
We will begin our discussion of the course with a series of ZOOM discussions starting on Saturday morning at 9:00-11:00 am (Pacific Time), February 14, 2026. These sessions will continue on most Saturday mornings until the class is finished.
Learning from Buddha is essential for anyone wanting to do yidam practice and become enlightened in this lifetime. It is available for anyone to read and study, but you would need to take refuge and be willing to have the Three Jewels of Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha as your role models to fully receive benefits from the tantric dharmas explained therein. It is open to students enrolled in either the Buddhist Studies or the Xuixing Seminary Programs. It is considered an advanced program and does require completion of several other courses as prerequisites to enrolling including DCB12-The Dharma of Cultivation. Reba Jinbo Rinpoche will be available to help with these required courses and/or registration and enrolling in Learning from Buddha Seminary and registering to participate in the ZOOM sessions on January 31 and February 7 from 9-11.

His Holiness told us that it will be difficult to attain accomplishment without learning this Dharma. A brief discourse by H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III is included in the front of the text concerning two photos of His Holiness showing Him first as a wrinkled old man and later transformed into a handsome youth along with narrative on the event that produced these photos. This narrative also includes a summary of the principles or Dharma teachings contained in the Dharma that He possesses along with a list of the classic Buddhist commentaries we should study.
