What Else Is New at Learning from Buddha Seminary (LFBS), March 14, 2026

We continued our study of DCB35-Learning from Buddha on March 14, 2026 starting Lesson Four: Introduction, Assignment 4. We also discussed the examination given by the World Buddhism Association Headquarters.

The following are brief summaries of our discussion on March 14, 2026 with links to the video of our ZOOM discussion of that class and previous sessions below. The large bold blue quotes are from a preliminary translation of Learning from Buddha by H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III. Please note that in the video of this class we heard the understanding expressed by the various participants, which may or may not be correct. To understand the translation of all the actual quotes from the Buddha Master you need to read the text, which you can download from the curriculum section of DCB35 (Click “PREVIEW”). Also please remember that we are still working with a preliminary and unauthorized translation of the Buddha Master’s teachings so even these “quotes” can only be used for reference.

The rest of the discussion focused on Lesson Four-Tantra-Introduction.

What can you expect if you cultivate yourself, but do NOT learn Dharma?

What must a guru or master specifically understand?

What must living beings rely on to attain accomplishment and liberation?

What does Buddha Dharma do?

Can we call Buddha Dharma a “method”? Explain.

What are mantras?

We also discussed what Buddha Dharma is–its concept–and why it is so indispensable in attaining enlightenment and although mudras, mantras, chanting sutras, koans, or the like are parts or aspects of Buddha Dharma, they are not the totality of it. The Buddha Master also explained how many Dharma Masters, Rinpoches, or even Dharma Kings do not have a clear concept of just what Buddha Dhara is. He also explained why we do not allow those below a three gold button rank teach and He told us about the exam given by the World Buddhism Association Headquarters to determine this ranking. He stated what was the source of true Buddha Dharma
