A Blog offered by Zhaxi Zhuoma Rinpoche

What Is This Blog All About?

As part of my month long retreat, I spent some time thinking about what I am doing, have done, and want to spend the rest of the time I have on this planet doing. This article is essentially that and restating what has been a set page on this blog describing why the BLOG was established in the first place and what I want to do with it. That has not changed, but I thought it was time to share it with you again, check the many links, and–where needed–update it. I know there are many new subscribers who do not know me or my history or why I follow H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III. Several of my students have written very beautiful testimonials about their reasons, and you can find my reasons in this blog and the “Introduction” of my book Thus Have I Seen: The Marvelous True Dharma and Its Power to Transform, which is summarized below.

The Purpose of This Blog

Thus Have I Seen (and Heard) on zhaxizhuoma.org is a blog offered by me, Zhaxi Zhuoma Rinpoche, for English-speaking followers and those interested in the teachings and activities of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III.

I will share my experiences and what I have seen, heard, and learned from being a close disciple of the Buddha Master for many years and do what I can to make the Buddha’s dharma discourses and writings more accessible to those who do not understand Chinese.

I have followed this Buddha, before I even knew He was a Buddha, because I wanted to learn the Buddha-dharma of Shakyamuni Buddha; the dharma that can enlighten and enable one to attain liberation from samsara. I am grateful to all the other teachers who helped me on this path, but I have come to know that H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha is truly a holy being and has the Buddha-dharma that can enable us to become Bodhisattvas and eventually Buddhas. I don’t see that anywhere else, but I do see a lot of erroneous and even evil practices that do not provide the power of the dharma that Shakyamuni Buddha brought to this world. I am alarmed at the secularization of Buddhism that has occurred in the West. It would seem that much of what is presented as Buddhism today is mainly a form of mindfulness that is a method to develop concentration, reduce stress, and achieve serenity. These are all worthy by-products and useful, but fall far short of the wonders and marvelous existence taught by Shakyamuni Buddha. People do not believe in the power of the Buddha-dharma, because they have never experienced or seen it.

I believe that H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III came to this world to correct the evil and erroneous views and practices that have crept into Buddhism over the centuries and to restore and propagate the true dharma of the Holy Ones in a way that is appropriate for our times. We are now seeing more of that dharma be available in English so that westerners can also receive those teachings, but there is still some major work to be done. I understand that priority has to be given to recording and, where possible, publishing the Buddha Master’s words in Chinese. That is happening. Publishing the same in English is not. I also understand that I was blessed with preliminary translations and the ability to share what I had orally with others and that is what I have tried to do.

I will do my best to introduce these teachings that I have and to the best of my ability answer any questions you may have about these teachings and any matters concerning the Buddha Master. My comments are not offered as dharma, but for your reference to use as you see fit. I developed the courses to help me learn and practice what H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III has given us and am sharing them in the hope that that they may help you as well. May you quickly become accomplished.

WHY “Thus Have I Seen (and Heard)” for the name of the BLOG?

It is said that Ananda, Shakyamuni Buddha’s cousin and attendant for His last twenty-five years, was present at most of the discourses given by the Buddha and had an understanding with the Buddha that he would be given the discourses he missed. It is also believed that Ananda had perfect recall and after the Buddha’s death was called to recite all of these discourses. At that time he began reciting these discourses with the words “Thus Have I Heard….”

Now, Zhaxi Zhuoma is not saying that her level of realization is anything near that of the Buddha’s cousin or that she has a fraction of that ability to remember, but she realized that she was one of very few non-Chinese disciples of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III who has witnessed many of the holy manifestations or amazing events connected to His Holiness and been able to receive private discourses and translations of other more public discourses given by this great holy being being that are not available to the general public. Since seeing is believing and she had seen and heard so many things that are so hard to believe, she decided to try and document some of the events and teachings that have been so important to her spiritual evolution so that others can know that the true Buddha-dharma still exists in this world.

She has also published a book based on her experiences that includes information on how English-speakers can gain access to these teachings. CLICK for information on this book and how to acquire it.
