The Supreme and Unsurpassable Mahamudra of Liberation (SAUMOL) Available

H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III
H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III.

I am so happy to be able to read for you the SAUMOL during our virtual Sunday Service. I will continue this coming Sunday, March 14, with the third mind-essence, the “Most Excellent Enlightenment Emptiness-Practice Oceanic Mind-Essence.” For those of you who missed last Sunday’s reading of the first part that included the “Introduction and Preface” and the “Xiaman Most Excellent Oceanic Mind-Essence,” I will summarize that session. I anticipate we will combine the two parts to read the dharma practice in one session. I wanted to allow more time for questions and discussion for the first readings. We can discuss how to best proceed after the chanting session on Sunday and again after our class on the “128 Evil and Erroneous Views” from the SAUMOL next Sunday afternoon.

If you have not received the link to join the class, you will need to register. You will not be able to enter the session without that link. You also need to abide by the following protocols to be able to listen to this precious holy Dharma:

PROTOCOLS FOR LISTENING TO THE SAUMOL and OTHER DHARMA on ZOOM or at OTHER LOCATIONS

The most important thing is to feel and show proper respect to the Dharma. H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III has said that this is the most sacred Dharma that he has imparted in this lifetime. You do not want to incur negative karma by being disrespectful to the Dharma. Please abide by the following rules:

  1. Dress respectfully whenever you come to the temple, especially if you are to receive Dharma. If you are hearing the Dharma via ZOOM, observe the same demeanor.
  2. If at home, burn incense before sitting down to listen to Dharma. Stand and do prostrations when they are done at the temple. If you do not have or are unable to do the Prostration Dharma, please stand in respect for the others who will be doing this Dharma. We will chant the “Incense Offering” mantra before we begin. Do what you can to create a sacred space, even at home.
  3. Be on time. You will not be admitted to the temple or to the ZOOM session if you arrive or join after the incense and prostrations have begun.  If you have an emergency, you may be able to arrange to enter late, but it is doubtful that you will be able to reach anyone as we turn off our phones before we start. We will start the admission process at least fifteen minutes before the chanting begins. Please join as early as you can to be centered and ready to hear the Dharma.
  4. Turn off your phone before starting a Dharma class. Listen to the session in a private secure space where you will not be distracted. Remember that others will be able to watch you. No pets or children allowed for Dharma classes unless they are disciplined disciples. Open Mike and any other informal ZOOM sessions are more relaxed and pets & children are encouraged to attend. Everyone needs the Dharma!
  5. If starting a ZOOM session for the first time, be sure and test your audio and video on a day before the class is scheduled. If you have problems with your internet or phone connections, contact our IT expert, Reba Jinbo at 209-213-2044 or at dpferal@yahoo.com. He will not be available to help on the day of the class.
  6. Unless you have received prior clearance, you will need to have a video connection and post your name in English or pinyin and not just your phone number. You may also show your Chinese or other names. Do not use an avatar or blank screen during these Dharma sessions except for emergencies. We need to see who is watching this zoom session and if they are observing the other protocols. Failure to do this may result in you being removed from the session.
  7. If you have more than one person watching a session, please list all names or clear group attendance prior to session.
  8. Absolutely NO RECORDING of sound or video is allowed.

FAILURE TO OBSERVE THESR RULES MAY RESULT IN US NOT BEING ABLE TO READ THE SAUMOL ON ZOOM!!!!
