Yi Que Dan Pu-Rinpoche returned to the temple today with his wife, Xin Wang, to pay their respects to the Holy Vajra Poles and the descendent of the Sri Maha Bodhi Tree again. They were delighted to have all of the poles vibrate for them again. The rinpoche brought a group of disciples from the Bodhisattva Wish Temple in New York City on January 12, 2024 as reported in the earlier article reposted below.
January 12, 2024:
A group of pilgrims from the Bodhisattva Wish Temple in New York City visited the Holy Vajrasana Temple on January 12, 2024 to pay their respect to the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas and to meet with the abbot, Zhaxi Zhuoma Rinpoche. They were overjoyed when several of the Holy Vajra Poles outside the temple started vibrating while they were chanting the name of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III. First one started and then the others joined in.
Sri Maha Bodhi Tree Descendent:
Although it was raining, the pilgrims continued and paid their respect to the descendent of the Sri Maha Bodhi Tree that was installed at the Temple in 2014. The tree is still full of large heart-shaped leaves even this late in the year due to an unusually warm winter. Because we are so far north and the ficus religiosa is a tropical tree, it usually drops its leaves and dies back each winter only to burst forth with new growth in the spring. However, there is a large bodhi tree at a local Cambodian temple in Fresno area, so it is possible for the tree to avoid dieback. Maybe, if the warm weather continues this will be the year.
