A movement has started that you should be aware of. The first cohort is meeting, developing projects, and forming the Karmic Affinity Fellowship (KAF).
Although the No Self Society website is still under construction, this gives you a glimpse of what is being developed. If this interests you, they are accepting applications for membership. You can join the KAF waitlist.
We already developed a prototype of what is being developed here with the Lemonade Sangha that formed during COVID and continues with our daily on-line chanting and Learning From Buddha Seminary (LFBS) Saturday morning discussions via ZOOM. We will work with the No Self Society as it evolves and promotes the wisdom of our Buddha Master. We share the principles and concepts of the No Self Sociey by using the Buddha Master’s mandate of following His Seven Dharma method of study and cultivation.
Our specific mission is to offer opportunities for both individual Solitary Retreats and group Tathagata True Dharma Retreats at the Holy Vajrasana Temple along with developing the Learning from Buddha Seminary (LFBS) where we offer preliminary English translations of what His Holiness Dorje Chang Buddha III brought to this world. We pray that we may have authentic approved translations ASAP. You may listen free to English translations of discourses and download available text (also mostly preliminary versions) from the Buddha Master through our “Auditing” program or become members in the Buddhist Studies program (available to anyone) or the Xiuxing Seminary program (available to Buddhist practitioners). There is also a Xiuxing Practice Program for those who want to focus on and start or develop a serious Dharma practice. It does not offer a certificate as such, but it offers a guide that anyone can follow to develop a practice and/or serve as a check list for prerequisites needed to be able to take and benefit from a “R97X-Solitary Retreat” at the Holy Vajrasana Temple and Retreat Center.
Kudos to the No Self Society. May they bring the True Dharma to many and connect communities of like souls searching for liberation.
The photo of the Giant Buddha used here is that of the Tian Tan Buddha located on Lantau Island beside the 120-year old Po Lin Monastery near the Hong Kong Airport. I have been there several times and rode the Ngong Ping 360 glass bottom cable car through and over the surrounding mountains to see it and enjoy the views of the mountains and the South China Sea. I did not try the 268 steps to reach the base platform or attempt to go further up on the three-tiered platforms around it. Its 112 foot (34 meter) bronze statue of Amitabha Buddha sitting atop a lotus throne symbolizes the harmonious relationship between man and nature, people and faith. It is modeled after the “Temple of Heaven (Tian Tan)” located in Beijing. It was completed in 1993.
