Quote-Attaining Liberation

Practitioners must especially bear in mind that becoming awakened to the reality state of the three prajnas is not tantamount to attaining liberation and does not mean that cultivation is no longer needed. I previously spoke about becoming awakened and the various aspects of becoming awakened. Here I tell you that becoming awakened cannot be regarded as attaining liberation. You cannot say that after becoming awakened, you no longer need to cultivate yourself. Relying upon awakening alone is not enough. You still must rely on dhyana to develop power. You still must rely upon your power of dhyana to develop and produce wisdom. With the sharp sword of wisdom, you cut off the roots of birth and death, attain the various stages of realization, and accomplish liberation.
