We continued Dorje Pamu’s G36-Dharma that Every Buddhist Must Follow on August 29 finishing a discussion of Lesson Six, “A Respectful Heart and Correspondence of the Three Karmas”. This included a discussion of what it means to be a true Vajra Master or a Great Mahasattva. The discussion also considered why a disciple might be unable to extricate himself from the obsurations caused by his present knowledge and the problems of intellectual frivolity. Everyone in the class was given an opportunity to explain what he or she had learned from Lesson Six and how that affected his/her practice.
We started Lesson 7, “Twenty Types of Futility” with a discussion of the futility of arousing bodhicitta when one does not give up harming sentient beings and how to transfer the consciousness of a dead being to a higher realm. We also discussed various Dharmas within the Supreme and Unsurpassable Mahamudra of Liberation that deal with these matters.
We will continue this lesson on the other nineteen types of futility on September 5 at 9:00 am on ZOOM.
You should complete the prerequisites of G02 and C01, enroll in this course, AND register for the ZOOM link to join us in the Saturday morning group discussions. Everyone signing up who is enrolled in and attends the class may be given homework questions to discuss. You may also watch the videos of our discussions once you enroll in G36.
