The Northern California Spanish Sangha held their last meeting in Stockton, but pledged to continue and expand their outreach with monthly classes in Sanger at the Holy Vajrasana Temple. The group finished their translation and discussion of Part II of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III’s essential teaching on what is Buddha-Dharma, how to prepare for it, and how to actually practice and use it in Learning From Buddha. CLICK for more detailed news articles.
The Spanish Sangha has been meeting at the home of Amal (Edwin) and Bhamini (Blanca) Miranda since April, but will have to move elsewhere as the Mirandas are moving. Hopefully the Mirandas will be able to reestablish a new dharma center in San Jose once they are settled in their new home. Zhaxi Zhuoma, the Abbot of the Holy Vajrasana Temple located near Sanger, California, suggested they could meet once a month in Sanger and invite others to join the group. The two translators, Amal (Edwin) Miranda and Natta Quintero promised to continue and work to establish a bilingual chant book. Their first meeting in Sanger will be on September 8, starting with chanting at 10:00 am followed by Zen meditation with a class at 11:00 am on a preliminary translation of the Supreme and Unsurpassable Mahamudra of Liberation including Spanish translation. The Holy Vajrasana Temple will offer lunch to those attending. The class may resume after lunch, if needed.
Although everyone is invited to attend any of these events, the focus of the class is to help the translators agree on special Buddhist terms and conduct research as necessary to be able to translate the SAUMOL for the Spanish students in San Francisco later in the month at Hua Zang Si.
