We have one more retreat this year that will start at 7:00 pm the Friday evening after Christmas and end at noon on the following Friday, January 3, at noon. This retreat will have several parts. We will continue and finish Imparting the Absolute Truth through the Heart Sutra and end with the last part of that book where H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III gives explicit instructions on how to realize the prajna that He taught us about through our study of the Heart Sutra.
The Buddha Master tells us that “regarding how to truly realize prajna, how to use your actual experiences to grasp prajna, you must understand the rules and methods of continual practice.” This postscript to the text gives us a summary of what the BM has taught us about how to integrate prajna into our daily lives. This includes understanding the laws of cause and effect, the precepts, rules and methods of Buddha-dharma–our cultivation and practice. He gives us our “homework” and the steps we need to follow to become holy beings.
Even though we are finishing our study of the Heart Sutra for now, It would be quite useful for anyone to begin here. This section is very important for those who are just being introduced to Buddhism and to those of you who have been practicing for years. I wish with all my heart that we could all have had this part when we entered the path of the Buddha. I know that after studying and practicing Buddhism for so many years (over 35 now), I feel I am just beginning my journey.
