Our ZOOM discussion on February 18 finished Lesson 4 and began Lesson 5, continuing our study of the three types of prajna from DCB21 on the components of the title of Imparting the Absolute Truth through the Heart Sutra. We understand that all living beings have intrinsic-reality prajna or the perfectly marvelous bright true-mind Buddha-nature, which is no different from what all Buddhas realized. We also know that we must use the power of contemplative-illumination prajna to illuminate the five aggregates and be able to see that they are all empty and thus see our original nature. And we also know that we must continue to cultivate ourselves to be able to do this and be liberated from samsara and be able to help others be liberated as well. The Buddha Master summarized His teachings to date by tell us these truths and how to realize them.
We will continue this discussion and probe more deeply into letting go of our attachments and freeing ourselves of the obstacles to realizing prajna and becoming a holy person. The class will meet again next Saturday on ZOOM, February 25, 2023 at 9:00 am Pacific Time. Students enrolled in DCB21 may watch and listen to the videos of the February 18 class.
